This is one of those pages that I will update sparing... well whenever I run into some good Engrish. Now I'm sure you are wondering what Engrish is. In simplest terms it is the humorous English mistakes that appear in Japanese advertising and product design. I see so much Engrish on a dailey basis that it's not even unusual for me. But occasionally one thing pops at me...
Tasty, brown, gooey ASSe chocolate. Now please explain to me how any English speaker could eat something this...
I couldn't resist buying this wonderful bread... it made me sick. Just kidding.
How about some tasty collon?
Choco Balls... okay that's hilarious...
Less calories than regular water!
To pay for ADULT tickets... you wouldn't believe how they spelled children...
Besides the fact that the chocolate is called Marriage, it is also missing an r. Oy!
I hope every English speaker enjoys the sheer brilliance of this particular hair cutting place. Unfortunately there aren't cowboys, but weird Japanese people count for something right? I often ponder whether I can get a hair cut or a beer, or perhaps both. It's right outside my 3rd host families house so I crack up every time I pass it. 2/26/2007
My mom made me take this picture in Miyajima. By now I'm used to the sillyness of Japanese signs. But still, if anyone would like to try to take a guess on the meaning, post on my Comment Board.
Oh dear! Even though Fuku means something like happiness and good fortune, does this make much sense to you? Clear all the dirty thoughts, thank you very much! 5/3/2007
Okay, so it's not that funny. But the moment occured when I was using a Squat toilet, minding my own business, and suddenly being harrassed by a sign in bad English. I don't quite understand the meaning of 'full' Anybody want to take a guess?
