Japan is an island country in East Asia. The characters that make up Japan's name, the pages current background, literally mean "sun-origin", which is why Japan is sometimes referred to as the "Land of the Rising Sun."
Japan comprises over 3,000 islands, the largest of which are Honshū, Hokkaidō, Kyūshū and Shikoku. Japan is often split into 8 different regions. My host region is Shikoku, though I have been fortunate enough to tour a good portion of Japan. Sometimes my pages refer to a specific place in Japan, and one has probably never heard of the place before. Thus this page is to show all the places in the varying regions I have visited during my time as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student. I think I can say that I am really lucky to have seen all that I have seen in only 6 months. It will be continually updated when I make travels thoughout the country.
